I am happy with this toaster. When I first bought it, I set the dial in the middle, inserted a piece of whole wheat bread, and it came out medium-toasted. It toasted evenly. So far I have only toasted 1 slice at a time. I tried using each slot. One time out of the four, the toast was ejected completely out of the toaster. I am hoping the spring will mellow out with time.

This toaster is billed as "automatic toast boost" but that seems to mean that the toast rises higher than other toasters. I am not sure if this is true and I wish it had a manual boost. Small pieces of bread do not stick up very high. I haven't tried a bagel but I can't imagine them sticking up as high as shown in the illustration.

For the price I think this is a very good toaster. It has a removable crumb tray. The slots seem good-sized and it grips the bread as you lower it. The bagel setting stops the center elements from heating. There is a little diagram by the slots to show you...Read more

This thing is amazing it manages to toast bread all blotchy. I don't know how it does it but you can but a waffle in the thing and spots of it will be burnt and the rest of it will be soggy as if it was just laid out in the sun to thaw. The thing is completely useless. the setting is always on medium and yet sometimes the bread still pops up as if it had never been put in and sometimes it comes up so dry it's like eating chalk.

I ordered this item for my uncle. It was easy to use and he was very pleased at the economical price.
