I purchased the Black and Decker Convection oven about 3 weeks ago and noticed that it is extremely difficult to control the toasting level and it is highly prone to burn if it is not carefully monitored. This morning, I popped in some bread, turned the toaster on, and unfortunately left the room. Low and behold, I started to smell burning toast. I went into the kitchen to remove the toast and was frightened to see that both peices of bread were in flames! The flames covered almost the the entire inside of the oven. Thankfully, I was able to put the flames out before anything else went ablaze. This happened in under a few minutes of toasting. Absolute fire hazard... DO NOT PURCHASE!

We purchased one of these ovens a couple years ago and has worked fine for the most part. No complaints about cooking abilities or the timer which seems to be a problem on other Black & Decker ovens, but yesterday we were toasting bread when black smoke began pouring out around the control knobs stinking up the entire house with the smell of buring rubber. Fortunately we caught it quickly and turned it off and unplugged it but if we had stepped out or somthing else instead of being in the kitchen at the time it could have ended up in a major fire so I can not recommend this toster to anyone. We had purchased this toster because of initial high ratings we found online for it. Due to complaints for this brand I have found and recall of one toaster series, I do not think our next toaster will be a B&D although the ones in past worked well. This one is made in China.
