So I bought the toaster because I live in Germany and I cook more than two pieces of toast at a time. My first toaster was somewhat defective in that it did not shut itself off. Although Black and Decker was completely unresponsive to multiple emails, I contacted the seller (Bombay Electronics for me) who immediately shipped a replacement. The new one seems to shut itself off appropriately.
Like the title says, the toaster toasts bread. I can only be critical of one thing. That is, it only has this slots for inserting bread. It cannot do single-sided toasting or fit anything thicker than a standard piece of bread. It does have the rack on top that has worked for bagels and warming rolls.
In case you didn't know from the description, this is a 220v toaster with a European adapter. Happy toasting!
