Summary: BUYER BEWARE! 2010-09-03
Comment: I have always been happy with my B&D SpaceMaker. When it finally died, naturally, I wanted one just like it as a replacement. However, the "new and improved" version is anything but. After approx. 3 hours, I got the mounting device installed under the cabinet but then the oven wouldn't mount to the device. It clips in the back and then "interlocks" in the front. The front snaps wouldn't hold the oven. Returned it for full refund. It was scratched all to heck but Amazon was fair - as usual.
I recently installed a ceiling fan, from scratch, and that was child's play compared to this ordeal.

Summary: Sleek and Up to Date 2010-08-24
Comment: I really like my new toaster oven. It has a very sleek and modern look to it. I had to get used to it cooking much faster than my old Black & Decker toasteroven.
I would agree that for the price, it should include at least a tray for a baking.

Summary: Nice size but missing the tray 2010-08-17
Comment: I bought this oven to replace my old B&D that finally wore out after 15 years. I don't have a lot of counter space, so the under-counter Spacemaker design was a must. Unlike some of the other reviews I read, I had no trouble installing this with the hardware it came with. It was easy for me to do. I did put a couple pillows underneath it when I was tightening the bolts since I was installing it myself. I like the bigger interior size than my old one, but the footprint is not that much bigger - it just goes farther towards the back of the cabinet than my old one. I do miss the tray. I'm not sure why B&D doesn't include one with this. I do notice that the first toasting is not as dark as later ones at the same level, but that is easy to adjust. The controls are easy to read and easy to use. Overall, I'm happy with this oven.

Summary: Good but could be great 2010-08-16
Comment: The Black & Decker SpaceMaker Digital Toaster Oven is a reasonably good unit. We purchased this as a replacement for a Black and Decker model we purchased 16 years ago. The new model is slightly larger but came without a tray to cook on (besides the built in rack). The timer has a 30-minute limit which reduces the amount of things you can do with the device, restrictions that our original model did not have. Overall this is a good unit with nuisance limitations that don't need to be there.

Summary: Troubles Fixed, Good Enough Oven 2010-07-30
Comment: By this time Black & Decker has addressed the problems with the installation, there are longer screws, clearer wording, the template and instructions as provided were fine. The oven toasts and bakes very well--one bit of good news, the pans and trays from the OLD 'Space Saver' ovens fit nicely in this one. The controls on this model are functional, but confusing at first, about the only problem we have with it. On the whole, a good unit--note that it hangs a bit further down than the old units, it's accordingly, space-wise, not quite a drop-in. Works, though, on the whole better than the old units, much larger heating elements.
