We got this cutting board for our wedding and in terms of design, we love it. It is easy on our new expensive knives, great cutting surface, and a very comfortable size. One major complaint - after about 2 weeks, it already started coming apart at the seams between the wooden blocks, and bowed severely. We only use the board for cutting bread, and are very careful with our hand washing, so it wasn't from sitting in too much water. And since then we've oiled it many times to try to fix it and it's just not working. The bowing has gotten a little better, but it continues to come apart at the seams. We're fairly disappointed. I guess as long as we only use it for bread, it is still functional, but for the price, I certainly would have expected more.

This rectangular, end-grain cutting board by Calphalon is the best cutting board I have ever used. It is super thick, easy on our expensive knives, totally non-slip, and easy to pick up and move. The only thing about it that gave me a bit of trouble, was the first time I washed it before I used it, I got carried away and got too much water on it for too long. Even though I dried it off, it bowed up pretty badly. I turned it over so the board was resting on the bowed part, and left it alone, and in about one week it had dried back out and returned to it's original, level, beautiful condition. Since then I have oiled it several times, and each time it gets prettier. I have another, older and smaller wooden board that I use only for meats, fish, and poultry, and use the Calphalon board for veggies and breads and cheeses...in other words, for things that don't have the capability of transmitting bacteria as easily so I won't feel the need to wash it quite as vigorously as that first...Read more

I am very disappointed in this product. I followed all the "mfgs. directions" on how to keep this board in great shape but it didn't matter. the board bowed and cracked after about 2 months (30 days over the Amazon warranty of course....) it's so badly curved we are waiting for it to turn into a sphere.
