Summary: Quality Pan - Too Small 2009-11-24
Comment: Please be aware that this pan has an 18lb capacity that is not stated in the product description. We cook a 20-22lb turkey so I sadly had to send the pan back. It was a sturdy pan and had a flat rack on the bottom which I prefer to the V shaped racks that most turkey pans come with now.

Comment: Before you buy a roaster (especially for Thanksgiving!) you have to check out the half price deal on the new Calphalon UNISON Roaster! Calphalon Unison Nonstick 16 Inch Roaster with Rack! This is an UNBELIEVABLE deal! A couple COVERED roasters to compare: Cameron Cookware Multi Roaster or Norpro Krona Stainless Steel 12 Quart Multi Roaster (these two appear to be the same roaster, but way different prices!)

Comment: Gave as a gift to my daughter. She used it immediately and loved it. She has a large family and the size handles very large roasts, hams, etc. Cooked evenly and was easy to handle. Very reasonable price for calphalon.

Comment: This is classic Calphalon Roaster you can buy in any store, but ... it comes with Domed Lid (I could not find any good roaster with a lid in any store in San Francisco) - if you use it once, you won't go back to aluminum foil EVER, trust me.
I use it for bigger parties - mostly roasted ham (or two) and roasted duck. I never go over 450F while roasting - I never had any bad experiences with the material.

Summary: Boo-hoo: don't get this unless you want to be disappointed 2008-09-04
Comment: Darn it. I thought this pan would be perfect for my man-friend who needed a large roasting pan for ribs and brisket. I specifically put out the additional money as a special birthday present, because of the Calphalon name and also for the nonstick rack it came with. Unfortunately, with only it's second use for slow-cooking ribs (we are talking under 250 degree oven), the non-stick coating on the rack completely bubbled and separated from the metal. Only mild dish soap was used to clean after the first use, so why would this happen with a supposed quality, high-priced product? I don't think I will be trusting this brand again.
