I love the retro look of the toaster. It stays shiny and clean with a simple wipe off with paper towel. I have had it for about 6 months and have never had to use it on a setting higher than 3. It Does a great job on frozen bagels and frozen waffles. I'm not real picky about my toast but setting 2 on 2 pieces will toast one side of each piece nicely, and the other side will be very lightly toasted. That's how I like it so works for me! The setting for a single piece of toast has to be turned down a little bit.

Well, sorry. After 2 years of almost daily use (morning toast), one side of the toaster will not stay down, the other side the handle broke off. We are not hard on equipment. I am surprised this thing has not worked really well (I mean it is just toast fer cryin out loud), the amount of browning is not very accurate, especially when changing from one kind of bread to another, and then the thing breaks. Save your money, by something a little better quality.

This toaster looks great on the counter and blends well with my stainless appliances. It toasts nicely...the color is even on the entire slice. We've been using it for almost a year, many times daily, and have had no problems.
