Summary: Light years better than the B&D crap 2010-08-29
Comment: I have owned a succession of B&D toaster ovens, and agree with other reviews that they have gotten worse. Last one lasted less than 4 years of mostly toasting before losing a heating element. It was a crude thing when it worked: a simple timer dial for toast that was unpredictable, unstable oven temp for baking, etc.
So, I agonized over spending 4-5x as much on the Cuisinart. Glad I did, the thing is a very fine machine, easily worth the price when compared to the rest. Have done toast to perfection (just remember your preferred setting) and so far has baked things perfectly.
As for complaints about burning fingers, it is a freaking small toaster oven, don't go grabbing bits that are sure to be hot. How hard it is that to figure out? A simple underhand grasp of the door handle keeps you away from the hot stuff.
About the only thing I might have liked it an option to have the tray extend as the door opens, but that does not come on big ovens either.

Summary: Toast 2010-08-27
Comment: Like the oven but does anyone know if when toasting- are both sides of the bread supposed to toast or do you have to flip bread to get the other side toasted? Am I doing something wrong?

Summary: pleasantly surprised 2010-08-18
Comment: after buying and using various toasterovens,Iwas leery shopping for anew one.It seemed the dials were poorly marked or hard to turn. The last one I bought, you had to watch the toast to see how it was browning.Enter my new Cuisinart. Good morning toasteroven, push two buttons wait four minutes, beep, beep, beep, perfect toast.I love it.

Summary: nice 2010-08-03
Comment: Very nice toaster! I like it. Only thing is that I wish it had the ability to use the wire rack and still put down foil for any mess drippings. The manual encourages you not to use foil, but I do anyway to make clean up easier. I have to use the broiler pan to toast things that can drip, which means I have to flip the item halfway through.
Comment: We needed to replace a ten year old Cuisinart Model. After shopping around I realized no other brand was as sturdy or worked as well as Cuisinart. I settled on this one since it had all the features I needed. We love the way it toasts and also like the size of the oven. Can't say anything bad about it!
