Summary: great product 2008-11-16
Comment: It is a great toaster oven. Works extremely well. Seems to be high quality. It definetly is better than heating up the house with the regular oven. I would highly recommend this toaster oven.

Summary: Great for the first year, now need to replace 2008-11-16
Comment: This toaster oven was great for the first year or so. Then we started having occasional problems with the door not staying shut. Now, after 3 years, the door never stays shut and the toaster oven tends to burn most things. We are ready to replace it! I thought that a brand like Cuisinart would make a long-lasting appliance, guess I was wrong!

Summary: BROKEN DOOR 2008-10-02
Comment: I liked this toaster oven a lot, until the door broke (fell apart). Here are the issues: a) the right side came out from the main unit, and b) the left side - the glass detached from the metal slot it is in (not sure if i described that correctly) BUT BOTTOM LINE IS THE DOOR is BROKEN. I put the door back on, on both sides and the door wont close all the way.

Summary: Caveat emptor! 2008-09-30
Comment: This toaster oven has two negatives--one is tolerable, the other is not.
The crumb tray must be removed from the rear of the oven. That is awkward and many competitive manufacturers offer a front-loading crumb tray.
After a few months of use the oven door would not close tightly allowing heat to escape. I will not tolerate such a malfunction in a toaster oven
that I own.
I discarded the oven and purchased a new oven from a different manufacturer.
The new oven is a convection oven (the TOB-50 is not)and cost less than the
faulty-functioning Cuisinart.
The internet is replete with numerous door complaints on this model. It was interesting to note that one unhappy buyer actually took the oven apart and found the door mechanism unfixable. I called a local small appliance repair facility and was told that Cuisinart, unlike other manufacturers, will not sell any replacement repair parts for its products.
The reviews indicate that some angry buyers went to the bother and cost of obtaining replacement ovens from Cuisinart only to discover the replacement units had the same defect. When I called the Cuisinart customer relations office I was told: (1) I should take the oven back to the store that sold it to me and (2) there have been absolutely no design changes to the door apparatus during the course of the production runs. Apparently some buyers were convinced to seek a replacement oven when they were told the door problem had been fixed.
Caveat emptor!

Summary: Broken door, broken handle, broken case... disappointing... 2008-09-08
Comment: I was terribly disappointed with this toaster oven. Within a couple of months the door stopped shutting. The handle cracked shortly after. And one day we were surprised to find the plastic case on the outside cracked. Don't buy this product -- it is a waste of time, money and effort. While we use our toaster oven daily, we are not particularly hard on it. It should have lasted 10 years like our previous one.
