Also, the toaster is not nearly as stylish as I expected- esp. for a brushed stainless steel model. The ends seem to be made of plastic?? but the worst thing is: you cannot read the knobs! The black writing on the shiny chrome is impossible to read in my kitchen. Most toasters put the writing on the toaster itself-so you can set the dial to the desired setting. Not so with this one, and the knobs are cheap looking- also I didn't realize that there was no time setting, only a setting for dark-light toast. How do you time a pizza???? My old one had a 20 minute timer that automatically went off when you were done.(this is entirely my fault for not checking- just threw that in in case somebody wanted to know)
I hate to post a bad review- esp. since this is my first one. I do a lot of research before I buy online, and I always read other reviews first. I have to...Read more 26 of 26 people found the following review helpful: By L.C. (NH) - See all my reviews This review is from: DeLonghi EO1238 1/2-Cubic-Foot 6-Slice Toaster Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen) We bought this toaster oven when our (very) old toaster oven died. We've had it about a month and so far its great. It is much larger than our last one - it toasts 6 slices at once (our old one did 2). The top dial is for temperature if you are baking. The middle dial is a timer for toast - you twist it to light, med or dark and it ticks away and dings when it is done. It toasts very well althought it does seem a bit slower than our old one. However, with the 'ding' feature, you can walk away and come back after the toast is done. You turn this dial the other direction to turn the oven on for baking. The bottom dial is to set for bake/broil, or bake/toast. It has 'cool touch' sides which we like and so far, it seems to be pretty easy to clean. I pull the removable crumb tray out every couple days, wash it and slide it back in, and wipe down the glass door. It has 2 slots for the rack inside - one is about in the middle of the oven (which we use) and the other...Read more 22 of 23 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: DeLonghi EO1238 1/2-Cubic-Foot 6-Slice Toaster Oven, Stainless Steel (Kitchen) This is the second DeLonghi toaster oven that I have owned. There are a couple of improvements that are worth mentioning. The addition of an oven light is great. Also, the non stick pan and broiler rack is a big plus. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is due to the difficulty in reading the black on stainless indicators on the dials. It is really an incovenience. |
