Great Toaster!,

I bought this replacement toaster after spending big bucks on a Cuisinart that never got toast like we wanted it. This little baby creates wonderfully crunchy toast to perfection, stays cool on the outside sides, (but not the top--be careful), and has handy buttons for toasting bagels or frozen bread and also a cancel button. My only quibble would be that it doesn't really put the toast up high enough past the hot top-so I just use my bamboo toast tongs.

Got this toaster in early December, Like the fact if the power is interupted the toasts pops up, love the front loading crumb tray, makes it so easy to clean in a small space. Is cool on the sides, not the top! Seems to toast a little slow for the wattage, this is main reason it is not a 5 star. toast pops up plenty high except for some waffle sections from my round waffle iron. It has got used a good bit in a month and so far very happy with it over all for the money. I have and would recommend this toaster for the average home owner and cook, maybe not a toast conasieur.

Bought this toaster because the name Hamilton Beach has been around for years. On my first try, I set the "shade setting" to 3....not too dark, not too light. It burned the toast to a crisp! I then set it to 1 and 1/2.......didn't even get the bread warm. I will now view the toast as it cooks and manually override the timer!
