Happy with my Toaster,
April 13, 2011 Patricia Jardine (Boston, Ma) - See all my reviews
I love this toaster oven. some are made very cheaply and this one is solid. Does not take up alot of space but has enough room to put 2 large slices of Pizza in to warm up and of course 4 pieces of toast. This was a great buy for the money. I paid 70.00 for the one I returned prior to this toaster oven and it did not even measure up to this little toaster.

Black and Decker dominates the inexpensive toaster oven market, but they farmed out the manufacture of toaster ovens to a company named Applica several years ago and ever since I've had problems with the brand. After my last B&D broke (the timer stopped working after three years and it was no great loss because the unit was prone to literally igniting toast) I started looking around for alternatives. This one harkens back to the toaster ovens of 10 years ago. It's simple and compact. It also does a superior job on toast and bagels (more even in its cooking) in comparison to Black and Decker.
The unit seems well built. On the minus side, it does get considerably hotter on the outside in comparison to the B&Ds (which are bigger to allow the unit to dissipate heat) so don't put any paper or plastic next to...Read more

The Hamilton Beach 4-slice toaster oven was just the right size for our needs - two person family. The only item which has taken some getting used to is the toasting process: first you need to turn the temperature dial passed the 10 minute mark, then back (less than 10 minutes) to the toast cycle: light, medium, or dark indicated by three symbols. It is hard to see and therefore difficult to position the dial and guarantee the same results for each toasting time.
