I, like many others, are frustrated by short shelf lives for toasters these days! I ordered the Kalorik because I value the opinions of Cooks Illustrated magazine-and they highly rated this toaster. I have had it a month or so and really like it. It's simple, the knob to lower the toast is substantial rather than flimsy, glass panels on the sides make it attractive as this is one item I leave out on the countertop.

I must first state that "I DO HAVE A LIFE" but to me a toaster is a very important piece of equipment. I want a toaster that really wants to toast my bread with dignity, I want it solid sounding(not a high, tinny volley of bread being shot out of the slots). I want it correctly toasted each and every time that I use the it. It is quick and serious and it sounds happy upon completion of the daily task. Like an old friend, it almost says "I'll see you tomorrow". And when I need toast, other than in the morning, it is Johnny on the spot and with no complaining, it does what is required. This toaster is very sleek and with the panel of glass a little more stylish. It is heavy and substantial, nice cord and a bright blue light to signify that it is truly working. As the late, great Etta James would say, "At Last". I tried two other toasters (before researching Kalorik) and returned them. This is a Great toaster functionally and visually. The reviews were spot on and I am quite pleased.
