Look good and toasts evenly. It is a bit slow but the results are good. The timer countdown feature is nice to have. Once you figure out what settings to use for different things like thin or thick breads and bagels its easy to time making other things like eggs and have the toast ready when the eggs are.
Decent product so far. We will see how long it lasts.

Unless you eat a lot of bagels, do NOT buy this toaster. First thing I noticed was the smell, as if vinyl is burning. Everything toasted unevenly, with one side darker than the other, as if it was "stuck" on the "bagel" setting. (There's no button for "toast", only "cancel," "bagel," "defrost," and "reheat".) Also seemed to take a very long time. The crumb trays are only accessible from the back of the toaster, which I find very inconvenient. Looks pretty, but is pretty useless for my needs.

I love kitchenaid but they cant make a toaster. I love everything else I have from them but this toaster just didn't work. The shade goes up to 7. At 3 my toast was almost burnt and my bagel on 2 was hard on top and soft on the bottom. Very inconsistent toasting. After 3 or 4 uses the lever you push down did not lock. Had to send it back. Thanks to amazon returns and getting a refund is super simple. I wanted to ignore the negative reviews but they are right. Choose another toaster to try.
