The Convection Select oven is a wonderful countertop appliance for cooking meals for two and, once you begin using it, you may never need to turn on your conventional oven again. This toaster oven uses convection heating, a method preferred by bakers, which circulates the heat around food to produce more even cooking and browning in a shorter time period and more delicious results. This oven, of course, has a toasting function for bread and bagels with a manual dial to control the level of browning. However, it also has the capacity to cook just about any oven-prepared meal you can think of. The Convection Select bakes at temperature settings between 100 and 475 degrees F and can accommodate a pair of stuffed chicken breasts, two lamb chops, or a small loaf pan of raisin bread. A broil setting (500 degrees F) melts cheese on miniature pizzas or open-faced sandwiches and also evenly sears juicy sausages or hamburgers. The broil setting heats up in just 5 minutes so you can switch it on if you’d simply like to heat the oven up quickly. A manual timer keeps track of cooking time and, for safety, the oven automatically shuts off when cooking is complete. The Convection Select has insulated side walls for cooler operation and a crumb tray that swings down from the bottom for quick cleaning. This convection oven also comes with an additional baking/broiling tray and is covered by Krups under a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

This is a great oven. Bigger than it looks, cooks fast with the convenction fan. It's not really a toaster, however. Bread comes out toasted unevenly, more top than bottom and the bottom only browns along two rows over the heating elements.
