NuWave Domes Crack,

This review is from: NuWave Oven: Pro Digital Black with Extender Ring
Altogether, I have bought 5 NuWave Ovens, 2 for myself, and 3 for Christmas gifts for my kids. I love the way the oven cooks,no complaints there, but within a very few months, the domes crack around the powerheads. I recently contacted the company about not wanting to pay postage fees to have a new domes sent, and was told that after six months of the one year warranty on the domes,a person has to pay $10.00 postage per dome. That makes no sense to me, and sort of tells me that the problem is known to the manufacturers. So far,3 of the domes have cracked, both of mine and also my DIL's. I imagine the other 2 will too with more use, since they aren't used often. I always hand wash my domes, have never put them in the dishwasher etc. so it's obvious that the material used in these domes is inadequate for everday use. These units cost more than a microwave so the domes should certainly last longer than six months. I won't purchase any more of these ovens. Google the NuWave Dome...Read more

My wife and I purchased the digital NuWave oven with extender ring.
The oven was shipped very quickly with no damage so that was great!
We have cooked with it for a couple of weeks now. I like how it cooks and
keeps all the heat and flavor inside. I would have gave it a higher rating
but the cooking times posted on the infomercial were a bit misleading I thought.
Just about everything they showed was cooked in 13 minutes.
Well, it takes a little longer for everythng we have tried. Especially if you are
cooking raw vegetables like carrots or potatoes with your meal. Expect more like 45 minutes
before they are not too crunchy. Thick meats like large chicken breasts or pork tenderloins take
longer as well, more like 30 min. You have to put foil over the top of them to keep them from scorching the outside, but the foil slows down the cook time. We still really like the cooker, I am just saying don't plan on everything taking only 13...Read more

I got this as a gift from my mother in law since she has one, she wanted to share the joy.
The first thing I did was cook a chicken from frozen. I was AMAZED. it cooked it great, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I actually think its better from frozen because it locks in the juice better than if the bird is thawed out, but I could be wrong.
only bad thing is you have to flip it half way thru, so get some silicone gloves. Oh, and make sure to get the extender ring!
It reheats like a king, ends up tasting as it did when you first made it, or doggy-bagged it.
The pizza thing is great too.
The things it doesn't do well is steak, unless you are short on time. Nothing beats a grilled steak, sorry.
So, yes, this thing is great on space, energy, and a snap to clean up in the dish washer.
