Oster 6297 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven, Stainless Steel

Comment: At first I thought all the negative reviews were over the top. But now having lived with this product for the past several months I had to write one of my own.
Like so many other reviewers, I can confirm that:
- This oven is dangerous
- this oven has electrical problems
- the outside of this oven gets dangerously hot
- the thermostat and timer are inaccurate and have both ceased to work reliably
- the only thing that really continues to work is the rack - it still holds up food from off the element.

And now that the oven started to smell like burning wires and started smoking, I am finally done with it. I'm very disappointed considering what we spent on it - I expected a nicer product for this price (around $70). I would not recommend it to anyone.

Comment: I made the mistake of buying this from Amazon about 5 months ago and not returning it, mostly out of laziness and figuring it would do okay. Every single thing I bake in this oven cooks way faster on the left side. I have to take out a pizza and rotate it so it doesn't get burned on one side. Pizzas are generally undercooked in the middle, and the toppings and outside edge are always black. Same thing happens with garlic bread, sandwiches, etc. Sometimes stuff cooks too fast, sometimes takes forever.

I've not found 1 thing that this oven can do better than the $25 toaster oven I bought at Walmart 10 years ago. As far as the design goes, the temperature dial is horrible. The graduations are seemingly random -- you can't tell if you have it on 375 degrees because the graduations aren't broken into logical chunks. You just guess for some temperatures. It's also noisy as hell. I can't tell you how much I regret not returning this. I am going to throw it out and buy something else.

Comment: I bought this as a gift for my sister at christmas time. It worked great until about the 2nd use then the handle fell off!! I contacted Amazon and they were real accomodating. Offered return labels to exchange it for another one. My sister was too lazy to use the labels to return it, but Amazon was friendly and very responsive to my complaint. Asisde from the handle it cooks great--fits in her small kitchen nicely.

Comment: This is a beautiful little toaster oven and it works really well for me. It has a lot of space and it's beautiful in the kitchen, I just love the way it looks. It hasn't shown any wear or tear on the inside so far and my food comes out just as it should. This is a very good quality product.

Comment: I love this little toaster oven. I must temper my review by saying it is my first toaster oven, but it is more than adequately functional. I have only 2 gripes, these being that the door does not seal well enough to keep heat in at the front, causing uneven cooking. My other complaint is that the analog temperature dial isn't very exact, which can hamper baking thoroughly. Other than those two problems the oven is fast and easy to use and feature rich enough to satisfy my first time user needs.
