I looked at all the toasters before selecting this one. I was attracted to this one because of it's appearance and the maker. It was just not the plain "old" box shape. It fits in very well with all of our stainless steel appliances and looks great. So far it has toasted everything perfectly.

Sometimes you DON'T get what you pay for...,

We bought this toaster a couple of months ago to replace the old Hamilton Beach cheap-piece-o-junk toaster that we had kept around for 5 or 6 years even though it didn't work all that well. At least it toasted both sides. We thought spending a little more money for a new toaster would equal better quality. Sure, it's sleek and looks nice on the kitchen counter, but it's permanently stuck on the bagel setting, so the outer coils never heat up. It was probably used less than twenty times, and now it's fairly useless. In contrast, I have a cheap, ugly little dollar store toaster at work that works like a champ. So if you want a sleek, stylish toaster that will only toast bagels, come and fish it out of my garbage. Sometimes you DON'T get what you pay for...
