an emergency oven now & an extra oven in the future,

Had an emergency this year - my oven broke before Thanksgiving. As we usually host this meal, I was concerned that this year we might have to eat out or go to someone elses' house for the holiday.
I noticed this roaster on sale, bought it, and used the roaster to cook this years turkey. Some observations:
(1) The process is a little different - but the turkey was moist - resulted in favorable comments from all, (2) the roaster cooked the turkey faster than a traditional big oven, and (3) it is probably more energy efficient than a traditional oven.
Have not tried it for baking yet, but it is supposed to be okay for that also.
And in the future when more than one oven is needed - it will be my second oven.

Great Holiday Roaster,

After reading the reviews for other roasters I was a little nervous about purchasing one for myself but this roaster alleviated many of my fears. The roaster, like other brands, did have a smell when first started but this smell quickly dissipated. I test cooked a turkey before Thanksgiving and it was the best turkey I've ever cooked.

I love this roaster oven!
My advice don't buy it if you're going to leave it in the box until the day before you need it.
Give yourself some trial and error time to get used to it...The same way you would get used to any new appliance.
I've roasted chickens, made biscuits, and casseroles, etc, etc. and it works great.
You can really cook anything you'd cook in your full size oven in this roaster oven...We have a big family and the kids friends almost always stay over so most nights I'm cooking for a dozen people...This is a great product that is energy efficient and really fun to use.
But, that being said the recipes in the manual are very limited you should read them and than do a web search for other recipes for roaster ovens...There are loads of web pages that can offer great ideas...LOL...disregard the one with the single guy that is a handyman that perfects his turkey crispy look with a blow torch...It's just weird and...Read more
