I finally had to replace the Proctor-Silex toaster that I've had for 31 yrs. Only because the slots weren't big enough for bagles and muffins. I bought this one also made by Proctor-Silex mainly because of the track record of my old one. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other ones on the market but it does make great toast evenly done on both sides. So if all you want is a great toaster at a low price then this is the one for you. KenG

Very simple toaster that looks nice and toasts very quickly and evenly. Excellent toaster for a great price. The only negative I have is that if you want to stop toasting in the middle of cooking, the only way to stop the process is to force the button up.

Proctor Silex 4-Slice Toaster - Black/ Chrome (24608) After just 4 uses the left side bread lifter will not stay down to start the toasting. I have never had a product break so fast. I read all the reviews and thought Proctor Silex was a good brand.
