I wanted a simple toaster oven to make toast and heat up open sandwiches - nothing fancy- nothing expensive It was hard to find because everything has a convection oven (which I didnt' need) which drives the price up into a range I didn't want to pay. This oven meets my needs - it toasts well and quickly - fits 4 slices very tightly (is a little smaller/shorter height inside than I expected.) Easy to see the toast due to rounded door design - I think it was worth the money.

We've owned this oven for about 18 months now and I wasn't expected it to be anything special. However this thing has been barely worth keeping. It serves it's main purpose, which is toast and heat things up; and does little else. It also takes forever to toast things - usually upwards of 10 minutes for toast. The shape of the oven itself is rotund and makes it quite difficult to not take up plenty of counter space even when in a corner. It also has a safety problem. The poorly designed handle, which must have been affixed to the side of the glass with rubber cement from the factory, is not attached anymore. So now to prevent myself from burning my hand I need some sort of tool to open the front instead of using the handle. For literally $10-15 more you could buy a better toaster oven, which a.) fits in a corner properly b.) better built c.) won't put your family's health in danger.

I had a GE Toaster Oven for over 20 years that seemed indestructable. I researched new ones & decided on the Proctor Silex. It has some very nice features. It's compact (about the same size as the previous GE). The rounded front door has a full glass window which allows you to see everything inside. This window/door rolls up rather than out saving needed counter space in front. The interior has a non-stick finish with chrome wracks for easy cleaning. The warranty is for 2 years. This little Toaster/Oven bakes, broils, & toasts. The interior crumb tray & bake pan could be of better quality stainless (my only criticism). Other than that at the $40 price this one is a winner!
