Summary: Excellent Cheap Toaster Oven! Very Happy!:) 2008-11-03
Comment: I got my Proctor-Silex Black Toaster Oven 2 weeks ago. I've baked cookies and heated up links and lunch meat in it about 6 or 7 times. The cookies are a wonderful crispy texture. I had to adjust slightly the temperature (350 to 325), no biggy. I love the look, the size is compact, the black/silver matches my appliances and the price is unbeatable for the quality. I like that the door slides up and they even thought of a way to slide in reverse to clean the inside. I just love it!

Summary: Toaster/Oven Value Plus 2008-10-12
Comment: I had a GE Toaster Oven for over 20 years that seemed indestructable. I researched new ones & decided on the Proctor Silex. It has some very nice features. It's compact (about the same size as the previous GE). The rounded front door has a full glass window which allows you to see everything inside. This window/door rolls up rather than out saving needed counter space in front. The interior has a non-stick finish with chrome wracks for easy cleaning. The warranty is for 2 years. This little Toaster/Oven bakes, broils, & toasts. The interior crumb tray & bake pan could be of better quality stainless (my only criticism). Other than that at the $40 price this one is a winner!

Summary: Perferct little oven 2008-09-03
Comment: This is the most perfect little oven I've ever owned! Takes up very little space yet is large enough for most of my baking needs. My last toaster oven was also a Proctor Silex...which was still working after nearly 20 years but I accidently burned the cord, Don't think I'd care or have need to try another brand. If you need a toaster over...Go For It!

Summary: The answer to cooking in the summer! 2008-07-28
Comment: This is my first toaster oven. I choose this product based on the reviews I read on Amazon.com. I have to say I love this little oven. The fact that the door slides up and over the oven is a real space saver for me. I have only used the oven three times but it has worked great every time. I am looking forward to using it more this Fall when I will make more meals requiring an oven/broiler/toaster.

Summary: Very disappointed... 2008-06-16
Comment: I purchased this item because of the positive reviews I've read about it by other users. It arrived in a timely fashion but as I was unpacking it I noticed that the door isn't sliding open. I wasn't sure if it was locked in some way so I kept skimming over the toaster to make sure there wasn't something holding it in a locked position. As I grabbed the handle to use more force I could see the whole body of the toaster flex and bend as if it were going to fall apart. After some time I used both hands to finally pry it open and I have to use quite a bit of force to do so. I was afraid it was going to break in my hands since the door is glass.
So I tried making some toast. Something seemed to be burning that is related to the door as I saw smoke coming from the doors itself, not from my food. And since the whole unit is incredibly hot now I can't use both hands to pry it open as I did before using it.
I'm so disgusted as I have tried to do my best to do my research to get an adequately priced toaster by reading reviews. This is a piece of junk and I'm aggravated that I now have to go through the trouble of returning this through the post office and having to pay for postage.
The door doesn't work, it should have been tested before they sent it off. I am now starting to believe that if a certain model isn't sold in stores like Target or Best Buy for easy carry out the door purchasing that it probably isn't worth bothering with as my situation demonstrates.
I'd like to give this piece of junk '0' stars. This is the worst purchase experience I've ever had on amazon.com
