Proctor Silex Plus 2 Slice Toaster

I've had this toaster for almost a year. I bought it because the presence of on board tongs was too good to pass up. Turns out they are a fabulous addition to your toaster - I wonder now how I ever did without them! They are SO handy to grab your toast/bagel/pastry with - and they store right on the unit and clean up easily which make them even better!

This toaster's settings work fine - 2 to 3 is average and I doubt unless you like extra crispy you need to go beyond that. It has a bagel button you can push so it doesn't crispy fry your bagel which is nice and really works. The crumb tray is easy to pull out and clean. The metal recessed area on top where the bread goes in though is not easy to clean and is a pain (I removed a star for that).

Overall a nice toaster that works fine. It doesn't tend to burn corners (which happened with my last cheap toaster). I'm happy with it and so are the kids.

This is a good everyday, 2 slice toaster. I've had mine for almost 2 years now without any issues. The crumb tray is easier to empty than any toaster I've previously owned--slides out easy, and goes right back in without much effort. I bought this to replace a very old Procter Silex toaster that I had for over 10 years. The bagel heating option on this is nice and bagels fit in it nicely. I rarely use the several storing tongs on it, but they do come in handy once in a while if something sticks. They are gray and sit over top the handle, which is not easily noticeable in the picture. I like the black color and wasn't sure I'd like the gray tongs, but I barely notice them. If you don't like them, you can remove it and put it in a drawer--still looks nice without the tongs on board.

I purchased this item as a gift, however I can only imagine the wonderous toasting abilities. Base don pictures alone it appears that this can toast bagels. I imagine you can also use bread, english muffins...perhaps even Eggos. I'm not endorsing Eggo waffles by any means, tjhats just the name we use at our house. Toaster Strudels should work too.
