I can't believe this thing is still on the market and hasn't been recalled. The slots are too shallow to even fully toast a slice of bread, but the worst thing is how horribly hot the outside gets. You WILL burn your fingers, and they WILL blister. I guess they figure if they have a "CAUTION HOT SURFACE" embossed on it, that will relieve them of all responsibility. Please, Rival...take this thing off the market.

It seems no matter how much you pay or what Chef's name is pon a product, its impossible to get a toaster that A) isnt made of plastic and combustible as my last investment was, or B) one slot slowly fades out and doesnt toast after awhile or C) is like this one-so rinky dink I bought it figuring I'll have to replace it within a year anyway, so buy cheap.

Does it toast? Yes.
Does it offer light/dark settings? Yes.
Does it allow you to push up the lever to get the toast up because you set it too dark and its looking like its burning? NO.
So what to do? Pull the plug and it self ejects the toast.
Somehow that doesnt seem electrically safe....so watch your toast setting.
