Product Description
Rival 20 Qt Programmable Roaster Oven
Amazon.com Review
When there’s not enough oven space for that large Thanksgiving dinner or family reunion feast, this portable roaster oven steps in to help. With its Accu-roast thermostat and wraparound heat, the oven cooks uniformly and consistently. Thanks to a programmable timer, a turkey or roast can be placed inside the oven and cooked for up to eight hours. The oven shuts off automatically when the timer returns to zero. To set the temperature, the power button is pressed along with up and down arrows; to set the timer, the mode button is pressed along with the same arrows, in fifteen minute increments. The enamel-on-steel roasting pan removes for cleaning by hand, as does the chrome-plated steel roasting rack. A glass viewing window in the lid sheds light on the cooking process. Aside from meats, the oven cooks muffins, pies, brownies, pizza, potatoes, vegetables, and just about anything a regular oven handles. Recipes with baking times are included. Without the lid (which inverts for compact storage), the oven measures 24 by 15 by 8-1/2 inches, while the internal dimensions of the roasting pan measure 18 by 11-1/2 by 6-1/4 inches. Rival covers the oven with a one-year limited warranty. --Ann Bieri

This product was very handy for preparing our Thanksgiving turkey, freeing up the standard oven for other things. It cooked the turkey much faster than I anticipated - plan on no more than 15 minutes a pound.
The only drawback - the bird wasn't nicely browned. If anyone has a hint on how to accomplish this, I'd appreciate hearing.

I picked this up at Walmart about 3 or 4 years ago. It was on sale for $29.99 (a one day Thanksgiving sale) & I purchased the buffet insert to go with it (also on sale for $19.99 or less).
This is perfect for the holidays, when you need to keep food warm (or cook it) & don't have enough burners on the stove or room in the oven! You just simply add water in the pan & put the buffet on top. This is a very inexpensive option for a buffet server...outstanding for the occational catorer too.
I also like the 20 qt capacity for very large amounts of chili or stew...wonderful for a huge croud! You can easily add 4 corned beefs and 3 heads of cabbage for St. Patty's Day. This is amazing for entertaining on a budget & it cooks the food perfectly. You can even bake a cake in this monster!
For around $50, this was an extremely smart buy for our use.
I would never do a turkey in it though...unless you get Rival's special browning product,...Read more

I bought the Rival R0200 Roaster Oven to increase my oven space for the holidays. One oven isn't enough sometimes. I actually liked the oven, although the ham was done much sooner than I expected. But the top plastic handle got broken while I had it stored in my garage, and I cannot buy a replacement. I emailed the manufacturer, and my email was forwarded to The Holmes Group. Their response was: "Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately we do not replace handles on the lid. Sorry for the inconvenience." This is more than an inconvenience, its a safety issue. The handle is what holds on the viewing window.
