T-Fal TT6802002 4-Slice Digital Toaster, black

Comment: this is not a good choice, in that both sides of the toaster goes down to toast, even if you have
only have one slice to toast. Not only wasteful on electicity, but either burns or under browns
your toast every time.
I said i would not buy one more toaster that is only good for a couple of years, but back
to costco for another kichenaid.

Comment: What a disappointment: with all the special settings, like for bagels, defrost, digital, it can't do the one thing right that a toaster should do: toast a bagel at the lowest setting without burning it. For ordinary bagels at room temperature and the toaster setting on 1, we're getting burned edges. We've experimented with a combination of different settings, e.g., defrost, bagel setting, but the fact remains: this toaster's setting is just to "dark" at the lowest settings. Further to this problem, even when we've put in frozen bagels, they don't toast consistently, i.e., some areas are toasted, and some are not. We had an Oster for almost 20 years that this TFal replaced. I should have stayed with a good brand.

Comment: Toasts English Muffins fine (on a medium setting). BUT, burns some things (like white bread) even on lowest setting. Looks nice. Lift up feature helps with removal of short items.

Comment: Best toaster I've ever owned. I'm 74 so I've owned a lot of toasters. Wanted a toaster that in addition to toasting 4 ordinary slices of bread would toast 2 slices of large size bread at a time, i.e. 2 long slots. This T-Fal has the most even toasting I've found and offers other welcome features like defrost and one-side toasting for bagels. The easy to change digital settings take away the estimated browning settings of a dial. Once you determine the right setting for various bread products, the digital setting is consistant. Other appreciated features are the signal bell when the toasting is done and the lift so short slices like English muffins can be raised above the slot to be retrieved. I definately recommend this product.

Comment: This is a good toaster, we got a different toaster for our wedding... name brand and all, but it was really junk. So we found this reviewed on Consumer Reports and on Amazon and it looked like it was worth a bit of a wait. So we ordered it online, backordered, and it came in sooner than we expected.

We were specifically looking for a toaster which had the long slots. This is the best one out there and very affordable.
