Basically with this item, you get what you pay for. I paid under double digits for it, but it still isn't worth it. I can only say that it does toast okay, but I still wouldn't buy it just for toast. I mostly make just poptarts and toaster strudels for my kids and they just do not work well in this. When you put the poptarts in, they are supported on the bottom by a wavy piece of metal, but there is too large an opening between the metal and the sides of the toasting area. Therefore the poptarts, and any other thin item you put in it, slip past the metal that should hold them up and then they get stuck on the side, making it difficult and dangerous to get them out. (Okay, actually the T2000W, The only difference is that instead of saying "Light" and "Dark" on the darkness knob, it says "PopTart(R)" and "Dark" on the knob.)There is no choice except to agree with the other reviewer on this. For a toaster that actually has PopTart's name printed on it you would think it would at least work with those. However, the "support bar" that you place the item to be toasted on is wavy, and not quite wide enough. Thus, when the sides close in (to help keep your toast upright) most of the time your toasts tips and the bottom slides off the support. This has two effects. One is that the bottom of your toast gets horrifically burned. The other is that the return jams, and when your toast is done, it sticks in the bottom of the toaster. At least most of the time it does turn off! This toaster MIGHT (i've never tried) work...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By julie (texas) - See all my reviews This review is from: Toastmaster T2000WC Toaster (Kitchen) i now understand why i bought my toaster for a clearance price. i was only able to use it for 2-3 days and now nothing heats up. the button won't even stay down. if i press it down it won't even heat. too bad i threw away the box and receipt because i can't exchange it for a new one. i should've read the reviews before i bought it from the store but i didn't know. |
