Didn't think your toaster needed an electronic timer to do its job? Evidently that's what's required to create the "consistent shading" (i.e., toasting) this sturdy little appliance provides. The cool-touch design prevents heat from conducting to the outside of the toaster, so you'll never burn your fingers while you're leggo-ing that Eggo. The Toastmaster's wide slot accommodates the most generously sized bagel--but it also adjusts to compensate for the varying widths of many baked goods. The hinged crumb tray makes cleanup a breeze. Compact and reasonably priced, this is a highly functional kitchen basic with few frills or fuss. --Mary Park

Summary: Overpriced at $15 2007-09-04
Comment: I bought this figuring how hard can it be to make toast? Apparently, harder than the Toastmaster folks realized. As a toaster, it is worthless, but my family has developed a game guessing whether it will burn one, both or neither side of one, both or neither slice of bread. The choice is never toast both sides of both slices. That never happens.
By the way, the one we have has three buttons on the end which are apparently supposed to have some function, but since they are not labeled in any way, we have no idea what they do.
Even for $15, this toaster is a complete waste of money.

Comment: The toaster is great. I bought it over a year ago, and it works great. The wide slots that can accommodate bagels too, offer great utility value. And the price is so low. A great buy indeed.

Comment: This toaster sucks! I bought it while I was in school. It barely functioned brand new and I threw it out after a month. I say save your money and buy something that will acutally toast!

Summary: Broke after one month.... 2006-09-30
Comment: It worked fine for one month (we were using it twice a day), but then the handle would not stay down when we tried to use it. We can still use the toaster, but we have to hold the handle down ourselves and have to determine when to shut it off.
Bottom line: Poor quality. Would not recommend.
EDIT: After 3 months of use, the toaster started smoking one day. It now resides in a landfill.

Summary: If I could give this zero stars I would! 2006-06-19
Comment: I have one question: Did the people at Toastmaster ever bother to even test this product before they put it on the market?
I didn't want to buy an expensive $75 toaster and didn't want that four slice kind that takes up half your countertop so I thought this would do. It has NEVER worked since it came out of the box. A quick look inside will tell you why it doesn't toast evenly. One side has several heating coils and the other has 3 ! DUH! The crumb tray is worthless and the spring action is defective. This was $12 thrown away. Buy a better model.
