I used it for 3 days and hated it! With no temp. control, it was hard for me to cook my food. Everytime I would use this toaster oven, my items came out overly brown and under cooked inside. I am very disappointed in this item and Consumer Reports for giving it such a high rating. I will be looking for an oven that is more flexible. Also, this oven gets extrememly hot on the exterior. Not good if you have toddlers! The only thing I liked about it was its good looks. Look elsewhere for a better oven, this was not worth the price. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful: By Tech People (Philly) - See all my reviews This review is from: Toastmaster TLWTOB6 Lightwave 6-Slice Toaster Oven Broiler (Kitchen) We bought this toaster oven after our old one died after many years. It lit up like the sun but toasted fast and we used it several times a week. We learned to deal with the lack of temperature settings and the constant red light so that you never knew if it was on or off, but after 16 months, the top heating element blew out, 4 months after the manufacturer's warranty period. Reading the other reviews, I guess we were lucky to have it work so long although the customer service person I spoke to on the phone said it should not have stopped working so soon. When you spend that much money on an appliance, you expect it to last years, not months. We loved it and now we will avoid all Toastmaster products. A great beginning that ended in bitterness. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful: By cara (Arizona) - See all my reviews This review is from: Toastmaster TLWTOB6 Lightwave 6-Slice Toaster Oven Broiler (Kitchen) I bought my toaster 3 months ago, I was looking for something sleek, looks good and works great. The true test came Thanksgiving, I needed to cook my greenbean casserole but my ovens were being used; so I put it in the toaster and it turned out great! My tenagers use it for frozen foods and my husband uses it for bagels, the bagels come out toasted on top; but not rock hard on the bottom. Baked potatoes are a snap and cleaning the oven is easy. |
