First, let me admit it. I love cutting boards. That is, I love good ones. I almost always have one on the counter, at the ready. If I am doing serious cooking I have two, one for meat and one for vegies. I do not like boards that are too big, They are awkward, hard to clean and harder to store.
This came about three days ago. Since that time, I have put it through some testing. I have sliced, diced and chopped on it. I have washed it, run it through the dishwasher and set a hot pot on it. The knife does leave some marks on the board. That does not affect its performance at all. It passed with a rainbow of flying colors.
This board does not slip or slide whether the surface is wet or dry. The tomatoes did not stain it. The jalapenos did not leave an odor. I used it side by side with my other favorite cutting board, a polypropylene one with grips that has been a favorite of mine. This one stood up to that test too. I liked it just as much. It has the added benefit...Read more

First off: this is a nice looking cutting board.
My initial thought was "What kind of material is this?" I was, and still am, a bit curious as to the longevity, especially given the product description's assertion that it is dishwasher safe. I hand-washed it after the first use, but I'll put it through the dishwasher from now on. Has a good feel under the knife, but...
The reason I gave it 3 stars is the rigidity. The silicone corners are nice, as they keep it from sliding around on the counter. But they also raise it up ever so slightly. The board flexes quite a bit when you put pressure on it. I don't know how often I'll use it, at least when cutting firm foods. I'll stick with plastic.
EDIT:
I've had an opportunity to use the board for a while now, and have run it through the dishwasher a number of times. Durability does not appear to be an issue. I was concerned that it would discolor or degrade, which it has not. It's still not as rigid as I...Read more

Tom Douglas Epicurean Cutting Board is truly one of the best. What makes it better than most is, not only its [environmentally-friendly] manufacturing from sustainable harvested trees, but its practical ability to be duly used as a serving tray.
We entertain with both hot and cold entrees, and this board is amazingly heat-resistant to 350 degrees. Although we've been skeptical about its claim of resistance to knife-dulling, we have yet to experience such results. The fact that this cutting board is dishwasher-safe makes it highly desirable; plus, the silicone edges also work as promised to avoid movement during use.
Overall, this board is highly recommended.
