Viking was helpful in directing me to their Detroit reapair center, and the repair center was helpful, responsive and courteous enough. But I've been informed that it's proabably a dead circuit board that can be repaired for an additional $49.95 -- plus my shipping cost to Detroit. I was sufficiently pleased with the performance of the machine while it worked, but the durability irks me. I presumed that at this price the machine would last more than 4 years. This has been a disappointment. I will not be buying this item again, much less sending it in for repairs. 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By Paintsheets (Milwaukee, WI USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Viking Professional 2 Slot Toaster, Stainless Gray (Kitchen) I love this toaster, it's sturdy, uncomplicated, and handsome. It doesn't do anything extra, because I really didn't need and never used the extras. It is expensive, but I am sure it will last for a long long time. By This review is from: Viking Professional 2 Slot Toaster, Red (Kitchen) I bought this toaster when I replaced my kitchen appliances and wanted all matching appliances. This toaster has wide slots and is no good for evenly toasting bread. My husband is not pleased and has threatened to throw it out and bring in our old (inexpensive) toaster that toasts evenly and will toast bagels as well as sliced bread. I love my Viking stove and fridge, but never would I buy the Viking toaster. I am now looking for something with a similar look that toasts evenly. |
