VillaWare V41005 Moderno Series Stainless Steel Digital Convection Toaster Oven

I have gone through three toaster ovens- one toastmaster and two black and decker- and both have fallen apart on me. I needed something sturdy and that would function. This oven is pretty large compared to what I had before, but I am getting used to it. It has a strong sturdy handle that looks like it shold stay in place- my other ovens, the handles all came off after a few months. I love the easy pull out tray for cleaning. It has an adjustable rack for different types of cooking. It is a little slow on toasting, but it is consistant and I like the beeping...it does a serious of beeps four times then shuts off. I make homemade muffins a lot and I tried them out in this oven...they turn out perfect! And it seems they don't take as long. I I use the convection oven and I love that I can see them rise.It's a pretty oven with good design. I am very happy with this purchase and I hope it will last longer than the other ovens.

Beautifully made and well-engineered toaster/convection oven. Works flawlessly, with the possible exception of taking a bit longer than one might desire when used as a toaster. (This is a large oven and therefore the elements take a while to heat up.) That small quibble aside, I am really enjoying this and am hoping it will remain in my kitchen for a very long time. It's versatile and large enough to bake successfully for a small family without heating up your entire kitchen -- I live in Florida, so in the summer, this a a very big plus! :) The instruction booklet is a little vague in a few spots, but the controls are so well done that operation becomes ridiculously easy within a few uses.

I don't understand an earlier post about 'paint chips' this baby is all stainless steel. That said:
Yes its surface is hot to the touch. The clock setting procedure baffled me until I went to the end of the owner's manual to finally learn it. Not at all intuitve. I use it mainly to reheat items. I know the time and temp that I want, but it's not that simple. You are able to pick 'fan bake' easily enough, and I opt for the default temp as being 300 degrees, then I have to deal with the 30 minute default time setting. 30 minutes?! So I have to press the down-arrow key repeatedly to get 2 minutes bake time. Too bad that they scrimped on easy-to-use features. My 25 year old microwave is easier to use than this oven. I put up with this new arrival because my re-heated pizza is crisp. What we do for our vices ; )
