I purchased this for my father because he is quite picky and he loves it. There are heating coils on both sides for toasting, which was a problem with the last one he purchased. It gets his toast nice and dark without drying it out like a brick. Doesn't have a ton of unnecessary buttons. The cool to touch feature is nice, does make the toaster a tad bulky looking, but if you're someone who touches the sides of the toaster while using it you won't mind the size. I did purchase this at a retail store and not through Amazon and actually got it for a lower price but I think it is worth asking price.

I read a lot of reviews before I purchased a replacement toaster. I decided to give Waring a try and this one is a great basic toaster! It has enough features and a good brand name reputation AND it toasts evenly on both sides. It is balanced and well built so you don't have to hold down the toaster just to push down the handle. Wide slots, Bagel & Defrost buttons, Cancel feature, and it's not bulky on the counter. The only "con" I found is that it doesn't have a numbered gauge for the light-to-dark setting. Everybody has their own preference for this, but set half way makes very dark almost burnt toast. I'm using 1/4 setting and the toast is picture perfect. I'd buy this one again in a heartbeat. I ordered the 2-slice in white online and picked it up same day at sears yesterday on sale for 25 bucks and added a great 2 yr warranty for less than 4 bucks.

I searched and searched for a new toaster, reading all of the reviews before ordering this one by Waring. Wow, quick delivery, sturdy packaging, and what you see is what you get. It's lightweight and easy to use, stays cool to the touch. Toasts well. Love it!
