Built with edge-grain construction, this durable wooden cutting board from Wüsthof is a solid staple for the kitchen. The board is reversible for years of use and crafted from maple hardwoods for durability and good looks. The rounded edges make it easy to grab off a kitchen cart, while the flat surface is ideal for breads, vegetables, fruit, sandwiches, and cheeses. This cutting board is a serious piece of junk. Lasted about a week before it broke in two pieces. I can see it splitting in a couple other spots also. Beware

I would be returning this item except for the fact that I received it free with another purchase. Even though it has not been soaked in water but only rinsed and dried, it has warped to the point you can't use it because it wobbles so and has split in several places.

I wish I'd read the previous reviews! I ordered this for $14.99 as a "bottom of the page special" and it's going back. It is not two inches thick as described, but 3/4". What a disappointment! And now I see that the regular price has been changed from $25 to $40. YIKES! Don't bother...
